Shoulders, Hips, Ankles, and MORE!

This section is dedicated to everything "not spinal".  So often, Dr. Miller hears the statement, "well, my knee hurts, but you probably can't do anything about that."  The answer is always, "now let's take a look and see."  What that "look and see" almost always produces is an "I can help this."  It's all about knowing origins of problems and treating the "whole" not the "part".  Here is a list of common problems that Dr. Miller sees, treats, and people get better from:

Rotator cuff syndrome

Sprained ankles

Plantar fascitis

Tennis elbow

Golfer's elbow

Carpal tunnel syndrome

Shoulder pain

Osgood-Schlatter's Disease

Sciatica

Knee pain

Hip pain

Foot pain

TMJ (Jaw) pain and dysfunction

Dr. Miller's treatment approach for these problems depends on his findings, but can consist of any or all of the following:

**Extremity joint manipulation:  this is a manipulation of a joint that isn't spinal.  Frequently, it is to the area of complaint, but may include other joints depending on the findings of the exam.  This is done with effectiveness and comfort in mind.

**Spinal joint adjusting:  depending on the findings of the exam, effective and comfortable spinal adjusting may be necessary to complement the extremity treatment.  You must remember that we are treating the "whole", not the "part".

**Myofascial disruption technique:  this technique aims to restore functional mechanics to the muscle, or muscles, involved.  This is a highly specialized technique that is extremely specific and corrects any one of the four types of muscular dysfunction (trigger points, myofascial bands, disruption of the muscle-bone junction, and superficial muscle dysfunction).

Like anything else, the duration of treatment is completely dependent on the length and severity of the problem.  Some of these problems can be corrected in 2-3 visits, while others can take 12-14 visits to get truly corrected.  Our promise, however, is that you will see improvement in the process, as Dr. Miller holds himself to the highest standards of care.
